Traditionally, ice has been delivered 1-3 times per week by delivery trucks.  Some display freezers are stocked by the ice company while others sell so much ice that their personnel may have to stock their own display freezers.  These display freezers are often very inefficient and may contain a fair amount of dirt and bacteria due to packaged ice being handled by a number of people.  It is very common for the ice in these freezers to become almost a solid block.  Once a consumer gets the bag home, they then have to break it apart in order to use it.  Not anymore…And, for those larger stores that have ice making equipment, the Akoona machine operates more efficiently, eliminates theft, eliminates contamination, greatly reduces labor, and offers “after hours” revenue.

Our new Akoona ice and water vending machines have a wireless, internet based monitoring and control system called “Akoona RealData.” This “state of the art” onboard processor can remotely diagnose potential issues and report these to the main call center.  This proactive approach ensures minimal to ZERO downtime due to mechanical malfunction, as corrections can often be made prior to failure.  It can accurately report daily, weekly, and monthly receipts, filter changes, trends, myriad reports, as well as other activities.
